Larch Cottage Nurseries
Described in The Daily Telegraph as ‘The Lake District’s best kept horticultural Secret’ and as ‘An exciting destination for any gardener’ by Roy Lancaster writing in The Garden. As an RHS partner Larch Cottage run a series of talks throughout the year as well as a number of gardening workshops.
Long Meg & Her Daughters Stone Circle
One of the finest stone circles in the north of England, the circle has a diameter of about 350 feet, the second biggest in the country. Long Meg is the tallest of the 69 stones, about 12 feet high, with three mysterious symbols, its four corners facing the points of the compass and standing some 60 feet outside the circle.

Lowther Castle and Gardens
Wander in stunning woodlands, with an occasional view of red squirrels and a wonderful array of birds. Hutton in the Forest
Today Hutton-in-the-Forest reflects centuries of history and change. A house of six periods between the mid 14th and the mid 19th centuries, Hutton is a rich illustration of the development of the country house in the North of England. Hutton is surrounded by beautiful gardens and grounds. It is known that there were elaborate gardens around the house from the late 17th century.
Visitors can discover & enjoy 4 centuries of history, 5 acres of celebrated gardens, historic parkland & home-made food served in the Mediaeval Hall Tearoom. Home to the World's Original Marmalade Awards & Festival held at Dalemain annually in March.

The brand new climbing wall has over 40 top rope climbs with a height of up to 8 metres, providing climbers of all abilities with every challenge they could want. There is a large bouldering area and new for this year is a huge 45 degree Woody sponsored by Needle Sports.
Rookin House is an established adventure venue and has been offering a wide variety of outdoor activities for over 20 years. We are the only activity centre in the lake district national park who offer such a wide variety of activities from horse riding to quad biking to the zip wire and the Madtrax All Terrain Vehicles.
